Dr. John Sherman

          John E. Sherman, M.D. has been a practicing plastic surgeon since 1980, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Weill Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Sherman is currently an attending plastic surgeon at 3 hospitals, The New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, and the Greenwich Hospital. He also owns and operates his own facility which is fully accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF).
          Dr. Sherman specializes in facial rejuvenation and body contouring, devoting much of his New York practice to aesthetic surgery. Dr. Sherman is very experienced with both breast augmentation and revisional breast surgery. Having performed liposuction on thousands of patients over the years, Dr. Sherman is an expert in liposuction and was one of the first plastic surgeons in the United States to perform ultrasonic-assisted liposuction.
          Dr. Sherman is board certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Sherman is also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has served as President of the Manhattan Council of the American College of Surgeons, where he represents over 1,100 surgeons. Dr. Sherman is now an officer of The New York State Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.
          Dr. Sherman attended New York Medical College, and then trained in General Surgery at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center and Plastic Surgery at The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center. He was appointed Chief Resident in plastic surgery while at The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center. He also did a fellowship in reconstructive plastic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
          Dr. Sherman is also the co-author of a surgical textbook which is used by plastic surgeons worldwide, Surgery of Facial Bone Fractures, and he has been widely published in many medical journals. He has been quoted frequently by magazines such as Elle, Glamour, Vogue, New York Magazine, and the New York Times. Dr. Sherman has also been featured on many television news programs, both local and national, over the last 30 years.
