Revision rhinoplasty, or a secondary, is a surgical procedure performed to correct a previous nasal surgery that was not satisfactory. Sometimes the nose may look aesthetically appealing but a problem with the overall function may arise, or in other cases the nose may be functioning fine, but the cosmetic aspect my not be acceptable to the patient. Generally, a revision rhinoplasty procedure is more difficult to perform than a primary rhinoplasty. The reason a revision is more difficult than a primary is because of the formation of scar tissue, which is your bodies natural reaction to a wound, and also because too much tissue may have been removed the first time around.
